ACT50 is a high performance and compact green-energy offline power supply controller that drives an external NPN or MOSFET transistors by emitter switching. This architecture enables many advanced features to be integrated into a 5-pin SOT23-5 package, resulting in lowest total cost solution.
ACT50 allows a low-cost NPN, such as ‘13002 or ‘13003, or a MOSFET to operate at higher voltage than in a base-drive architecture such as RCC. An external compensation pin allows flexible loop compensation and fast load step transient.
Operating at 65kHz switching frequency, the ACT50 is capable of delivering up to 20W yet consumes only 0.3W in standby. Its safety features include over-current and under-voltage protection mechanisms.
