The AX2596S series are monolithic IC designed for astep-down DC/DC converter,and own the ability ofdriving a 2A load without additional transistor. Itsaves board space.The external shutdownfunctioncan be controlled by logic level and then come intostandbymode. The internal compensation makesfeedback control having good line and loadregulation without external design. Regardingprotected function, thermal shutdown is topreventover temperature operating from damage, andcurrent limit is against over currentoperating of theoutput switch. If current limit function occurs andVFBis down below 0.5V,the switching frequencywill be reduced.
The AX2596S series operates at aswitching frequency of 150KHz thus allow smallersized filter components than what would be neededwith lower frequency switchingregulators. The output version included fixed 3.3V,5V, and an adjustable type. The chips
areavailable in standard 8-lead SOP,SOP-8Lwith Exposed padpackages.
